Two KLO cadres killed in encounter in Kokrajhar, Assam

 





When security forces and police killed three militants in an alleged encounter and captured one KLO cadre from a hideout in eastern Assam's Kokrajhar district, they dealt a significant blow to the Kamtapur Liberation Organisation (KLO).


The killed KLO militants have been identified as Nipon Roy of Bongaigaon and Abhijit Deka of Rowta.

According to police officials, a team of police and security personnel conducted an operation in the area inside the dense woods of Chakrashila Wildlife Sanctuary in Kokrajhar district after receiving specific information regarding the presence of KLO cadres.

KLO terrorists opened fire when they saw the team, and the police responded by shooting back, killing two militants. 

One KLO cadre who had been hurt during the fight was taken into custody there. According to police reports, four of the group's cadres were able to escape the area.

A hideout of the outlawed group was discovered by the authorities inside the Chakrashila Wildlife Sanctuary. From the hideout, security personnel seized two pistols, two knives, two machetes, four cellphones, some electric wire, and several incriminating documents.
