Guwahati Child Abuse: Health Examination of Sangeeta Datta at GMCH

Famous physician Sangeeta Datta was transported from Pan Bazaar police station to the forensic department of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for a physical examination.

On Wednesday, the GMCH's forensic department analysed a blood sample and performed a health examination.

On Monday, Sangeeta Datta, the primary suspect in the terrible Guwahati child abuse case, underwent additional questioning.

Miguel Das Queah, an advocate for children's rights, was chosen on Tuesday by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to serve as the victims' support person in the Guwahati abuse case.

Miguel, who has been outspoken in the child abuse case ever before the neighbourhood complained about a well-known doctor pair, would continue to oversee legal representation for the young victims up until their rehabilitation.

According to sources, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act has designated him as a support person.

It should be mentioned that on the day the incident was made public, Miguel Das revealed through a Facebook post that he had been receiving complaints about the doctor couple for a long time because they frequently chained their adopted daughter to their terrace in the sweltering summer heat.

He claimed that after receiving the allegations, he asked the witnesses to lodge a complaint, but that no one did so because they were too afraid to speak up because the medical pair had a history of intimidating them.
